Pequannock is a sizeable town in Morris County with a population of 15,420 according to the US Census of 2010. This represents an 11% increase from the previous population of 13,888 in 2000. The town has won praise for its top partying facilities that attract a lot of people especially in weekends.
New Jersey Monthly describes it as the best bang for the bucks and also ranked it 4th best place to live in New Jersey in 2015. The name Pequannock has a Native American origin which means a garden cleared for cultivation. In 1720, the township was called Poquanick 1720 and was the largest in the area. Various townships were cut from Pequannock including Jefferson, Rockaway, Boonton, Montville, and Kinnelon. During the revolutionary war, George Washington and his troops camped in the township; the point that now holds the Pequannock Valley Middle School.
The town is very close to other cities that make it a preferred bedroom for workers who commute to and from work daily. New York is only 22 Miles away, Jersey City 19 miles, and Newark 16 miles from Pequannock. Other smaller towns within a distance of 8 miles or less from Pequannock include Totowa, Little Falls, Kinnelon, Oakland, Wayne, and Cedar Grove.
Its facilities have remained a thriller especially to people who want to hold parties during the day, night, or weekends. Top parks include Greenview Park, Aquatic Park, and Hidden Cove that have picturesque sceneries for camping, hiking, and outdoor sports. It also has great restaurants such as Park Ridge Marriott, Travelodge Parsippany, and Hilton Hasbrouck Heights that offer local meals, European dishes, and Caribbean delicacies. Other facilities include Renewal Resale and Plains Plaza malls for shopping, and Pequannock Street Fair of Arts & Music for the latest art shows.
What is the Difference Between Local Moving and Long-Distance Moving?
You will see that every moving company talks about local moving and long-distance moving. Many people see or hear this and assume that it simply means how long your move is. However, local and long-distance moving can really be broken up into in-state moving and out-of-state moving. A move is local until you cross state lines. Once you do, it becomes a long-distance move.
